More than 4,100 Edmontonians call Ritchie home. Residents enjoy the centrally located, mature neighborhood also rich with history. A drive, bike ride or walk thru reveals an eclectic mix of wartime homes, vintage bungalows, and modern-contemporary new builds also.

It is made up of 2/3 residential, with a sizeable number of commercial and industrial properties. Single-detached homes account for just under half of all residential units in the neighborhood and a mixture of semi-detached dwelling, row housing and low to medium rise apartments make up the remainder of the units.
Close proximity to the University of Alberta, a wealth of independent businesses, a Francophone and a Spanish bilingual elementary school and easy transit access to major hubs, Ritchie is a community of diverse interests and people. There are several playgrounds, a new spray park, an ice rink, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts. In addition to the Mill Creek ravine, Ritchie features a series of parks that run along the central spine of the neighbourhood in conjunction with school sites. The ravine is a beautiful place with walking and cycling trails along with off leash areas- so much to do for the whole family!

Leading the way for other established neighborhoods; new to the community is the Ritchie Market, a neighborhood-focused, multi-use building containing local Edmonton businesses: Acme Meat Market, Transcend Coffee and Roastery, Creekside Cyclery, Biera, and the Blind Enthusiasm Brewing Company in a shared, collaborative space. The market is a walkable and bike-friendly development right within a mature neighbourhood in the heart of the city!
